Starting out can be expensive because of all the experimenting with how you want to transfer images onto the screens. Once you find what suits you best, then the most expensive part are getting good screens/frames... or if you're looking to get one of those machines that do 3-5 shirts at a time... Plus, you can find ways to be more efficient preparing the screens. A lot of folks bypass the art of preparing the screen and print them up with their computers directly onto the screen, but that takes out part of the fun. I like to only use printouts to make transparencies to use with the photo emulsion stuff. -

No, screen printing is not considerably expensive, but as a hobby, I am not sure, whether it could be enjoyed. Like handling a camera, taking a lot of snaps, taking prints and so on is comparatively more expensive. For screen printing, taking the negative and feeding to Printer and taking copies, the cost is based on the labour - (in computer as hobby), ink and the printer, would do all - but what about matter for printing.

i dont think it is all that pricey but then again im not all that sure...go to your local craft store and search around for sales on the items you need also maybe contact a screen printing business and ask them were they get their products and such from...good luck!
