Pride & Prejudice-The 1996 A&E/BBC (starring Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle) is the definitive version to see. All others must pale in comparison. Sense & Sensibility-the one starring Emma Thompson & Kate Winslet. It doesn't follow the novel exactly but it's still very good. Emma-The 1996 film, starring Gwyneth Paltrow & Jeremy Northam. I did not like the A&E/BBC version with Kate Beckinsale. She was too snotty. Persuesion-The 1995 version starring Amanda Root & Ciarin Hinds. Mansfield Park-The 2007 Masterpiece Theatre production starring Jemma Redgrave is more true to the book than the 1999 (Hannah Taylor-Gordon) film but a lot is left out. Northanger Abbey-I've only seen the 2007 Masterpiece Theatre production but it was very good.
