This is without doubt one of the greatest TV shows ever to have been made, yet for some reason the terrestrial UK TV channels have failed to show this trully brilliant programme.
It is better than "The Sopranos" which is also made by HBO.
Series 4 has just finished being aired in the US.

I absolutely love it! I got into it by accident and ended up getting the first three series on dvd as I missed their original airing here in the UK. What I love about it is that it is all so dark and relalistic but so funny as well. The whole idea about 'Amsterdam' was really distrubing and yet it actually seemed quite a good idea to me too! The characters are superb and so too is the acting. It's one of my top shows.
I've not seen series 4 yet, however the excelllent news is that for any other fans of The Wire here in the UK, I got this email from FX just this morning:
The Wire season 4 will start its UK Premiere run on Tuesday 13th February at 10pm. You can catch a new episode at the same time each week, with a chance to catch up with the previous weeks episode at 9pm. I hope you enjoy!
So, anyone else interested in McNulty, Daniels and the aftermath of the Barskdale crew massacre needs to make a note in their diaries.
