I received this message from myself - but I did not send it. The body of the message was blank. There is an attachment, but I'm afraid to open it. What just happened? How can I fix it. How do I stop it from propogating, since it appears to be a virus or trojan of some sort. I just changed my password to my Yahoo account but somehow, I don't think this will cure the problem. I have Search and Destroy as well as Adaware SE - I ran both programs but they did not find any problems. I also ran anti-spy from Yahoo which also did not detect any problems. How much trouble am I in? Who do I need to contact? How do I fix this problem? What is the problem? I also have a security key with Yahoo - I'm not sure how this really helps.

Do not open the attachment. Delete it. Scan the PC with standard antivirus software. If you do not have one, I can give a few links that offer free virus and spy ware removers...!You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

Just delete it. It's either spam or a virus/spyware. The "From:" address in e-mail is simple to spoof.

NEVER open attachments on e-mails unless you are expecting them from a known correspondent.

Maybe you are worrying too much. Just delete it and don't worry about it unless it continues to happen. As long as you don't download the attachment everything should be fine
