I know that Qat is legal in UK, but not in the US

Here's the real deal on Khat.

1. You'll find it used especially in the Somali community, but also in the Ethiopian and Yemeni communities.

2. The Home Office recently decided not to control it under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 - and it can even be purchased by minors. Helpfully, at its drugs website, the Home Office has given all the information you need - where to buy, current price, and effects. Rule Britannia!

Yes, it's legal in the UK, at least at present, though there have been suggestions that the law should be changed. But for the moment you should have no trouble picking it up in almost any UK city with a sizeable Asian population. In London, your best bet might be the area around Edgware Road, where a lot of Lebanese, Syrians, Yemenis, etc live.
