Hi Patricia, good job on swapping the coil packs to do a bit of diagnostic checking. Just to help you out here. If you swap the coil pack and said problem is resolve then it is most definitely not a wiring or connection issue and it is the offending coil pack itself. The best fix is to replace all 4 coil packs because when one goes it can cause a voltage spike and strain the other 3 good ones. In other words, if you replaced the faulty one only, then chances are that all 3 could go at some point in the near future and the 1 good one would remain. It is therefore good practice and acceptable to replace all of them with fresh ones at the same time. Typically, coil packs should be replaced every 60,000 miles as good practice but they have been known to go as low as 40,000 mikes! Sometimes, there are known issues from the manufacturers end. For example, I had an Audi which was part of a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and all Audi A3's from that particular year were recalled for free coil packs from Audi. It might be worth going to FIAT or calling them to check if there is a TSB for your coil packs - not all dealers are open about this. One Audi dealer fobbed me off and the other did it no questions asked. I would especially be making some noise if my mileage was 20,000 miles or lower and my coil packs had gone because that is unacceptable. This may also be covered under warranty if your mileage is less than 60,000 and your car is under 3 years old. Best wishes.

Hi there,
Unfortunately the service reminder will have to be erased by suitable diagnostic equipment at dealers.
Cheers

have the car serviced as indicated, or it might be cheaper to scrap it.
