Johndeere is right. The Powerbooks use IBM's PowerPC chips and CANNOT run any Windows OS natively. Using Virtual PC, you can run Windows in a virtual environment, but at one-fifth of the computer's actual speed- not an acceptable speed for much of anything except Win95 programs.
There are several versions of Linux that can run on a Powerbook G4- I think Ubuntu is one of them. Only the newer MacBooks, which use Intel chips, can run all three- Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Give the Mac OS a try- if you really don't want to use it, you can probably sell it on eBay for a decent price- post the specs, and I can tell you about what it's worth.

You have to use a program called VirtualPC owned by Microsoft to use XP on a PPC processor Mac. The Intel chipped Macs run XP natively.

Interesting Question. I do not believe that the G4 was designed to have its operating system replaced. If it is possible, I suppose you woudl have to start with a low level formating of the Hard Drive(s). I woudl be very careful if you attempt this as low level formating can lock a hard drive out completely. After it is formated to a Windows compatable format, then you woudl load Windows regularly. Good luck. I have never tried it myself.

you may not set up homestead windows on a PowerPC G3/G4/G5 processor. get carry of the unfastened MacTracker discover out your surprising device and the optimal OS X version it could cope with, if 10.5 or greater efficient then you definately can use iTunes and your iPod touch with that.
