Some lesbians (and indeed, some straight women) look, dress, talk, or act 'manly' or in a masculine manner because that's who they are and how they best feel comfortable. That's merely the way it is for some, just like some girls love to be girly girls, and others could care less. It's a personal preference.

As for the women who love masculine women- they go out with them because they like that. Why don't they go out with men? Because a masculine woman is still a woman. She is NOT a man- she has a female body and female parts, and the combination of a female sex and a male gender is hot for them. I know it is for me. Women are quite different from men, and a manly-looking woman is not a substitution for a man, but on another level entirely.

The same reason why some straight women look manly -because they like how they look, what they wear, etc. Of course some lesbians do go out with guys. But also some like a manly component to the female body and sexual antatomy. Just as some straight guys like fragile fake princesses whilst other like to be dominated by a big burly female.

There's every combination out there despite the pigeon-holeing. Variety makes the relationship world go round -get on before you miss out.

PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE! We come in all sizes, shapes, personalities, appearances, likes and dislikes, interests...etc.

Sexuality has NOTHING to do with appearance.

Not all relationships, gay, straight, lesbian, bisexual, whatever...follow conventional "male/female" gender roles. To assume or insist otherwise is simply being dishonest and quite frankly rude and assumptive.

Lesbians are attracted to WOMEN, the GENDER of FEMALE, not their appearance. Some lesbians like "Butch" females, some like "Femme." WE'RE ALL DIFFERENT...just like the rest of the planet.

being attracted to a butch woman doesn't mean a lesbian is really attracted to a man. a butch woman is still a woman (and still also in the minority). if you really think about that question, it's actually pretty ridiculous....and insulting.
