Loyal to family regardless if family is right or wrong. Do not expect justice if you are at odds with a family member.
They have a strange view on corruption. Corruption that profits self, family or friends is acceptable. Corruption that benifits others they oppose.
Tend to allow emotions rather than facts effect their decision making.
If you allow it they will take advantage of your generosity.
Many will say conservative and I do not know why because their views on sex is certainly much freer than in the U.S.A. They do not have a problem accepting a man having three or four families.
Intrigued with celebrity status and family names.
Very, very clean.
Particular about underwear.
Intelligent.
Excellent Employees.
Rude when it comes to cutting in line.
Easy satisfied do not need to be entertained.
Religious yes, but I question if it is due to superstition or faith.
Beautiful
Slow to take responsibility for mistakes and quick to say "I'm sorry" or "I forgot".
Respect the elderly.
Filipinos are not all the same. It is unfair for anyone to try and give a view of Filipinos as a group. It is also unfair because our views are tainted by our own personal experiences. Those personal experiences were influenced by the way we acted around the Filipinos we came in contact with.
What about an American's view on American's - we are generally not as clean as Filipino's; we are not as willing to do physical work as Filipino's; we do not make as good employees as Filipino's; we do not respect the elderly as we should; we have little to no loyalty for family; we do not value education as much as Filipino's; we easily become bored and need to be entertained; we are seldom satisfied and always wanting more regardless of what we have; we are not emotional enough; we wear plain white underwear with a hole in them; we do not cut in line because we are afraid another American would knock the crap out of us, and we find it difficult to say "I'm sorry" at any time.
I have lived in the Philippines for many years as a teacher and elected to stay when I retired. I love the Philippines and its people. I love America and our people. At times I get frustrated with everyone. I do not think perfection exist among any people. Perhaps a "self" examination would be more benificital than attmpting to define our views of another nationality.

Filipinos are happy, friendly and in general hard working people. For the most part, they are honest too, but don't tempt them. If they see something handed to them on a platter (like a cell phone left in a bathroom) they will gratefully accept. To them, all foreigners are RICH... That's why those that don't know any better get socked with a doubled price. They also expect a little pasalubong (present) when you come home from a trip.
It is good to have and keep a filipino for a friend - they will help you and be your friends forever. I've now been married to a filipina for 8 years and have never been sorry.
PS - and ooohhh are they ever jealous!!!

I for one will admit in my late teens and early 20's I looked down upon Filipinos. This was mainly because most Filipinos I met were divorced from their American military husband, and had taken him to the cleaners in court or they were still married, but sleeping around with one of the husband's friends. It wasn't until I got out of the military that I met normal working class Filipinos, and not bar girls. Then my out look changed. I found Filipinos to be very hard working, and religious people with conservative values. Which I liked, and thats why I've been married to my Filipino wife now for 10 years. Been to the country many times, and plan to retire there.

Don't ask Filipinos about that. We might as well be carrying our own chairs. Anyway, to AMericans especially in the past, Filipinos are brown Americans.

You tell me, I'm Filipino.
hope you guys don't stereotype every Filipino in the world depending on the ones you met. Every single one of us, not just Filipinos, are different. Some are nice...some aren't.

Freedom: 1. ability to act freely: a state in which somebody is able to act and live as he or she chooses, without being subject to any undue restraints or restrictions 2. release from captivity or slavery: release or rescue from being physically bound, or from being confined, enslaved, captured, or imprisoned 3. country's right to self-rule: a country's right to rule itself, without interference from, or domination by, another country or power Free will: the ability to act or make choices as a free and autonomous being and not solely as a result of compulsion or predestination I disagree with your point of freedom and free will in that you have the freedom and free will to do what is wrong if you so choose. That said, the PP said to follow the "Golden Rule" (do unto others as you would have them do unto you). I agree with the golden rule, but that is your choice - you don't have to follow it if you don't want too; just know there are consequences for violating other people's freedom and free will. I hope that answers your question!

Very nice people actually...most of them.
Like any part of the world...there are few exceptions.
(jealousy is a killer, except gifts, etc)
But in general terms...they are wonderful peoples, hard working and they always help each other.
I suggest you learn about their culture...then you will undertand them a lot better and appreciate them more.
Regards
