At Casino Royale you can buy bottle beer or Margaritas for $1 . Slots of Fun has bottle beer for $1.25..

"minimize losses without looking too cheap"?
Play $5 minimum Pai Gow Poker at a full table>this is a very slow game(maybe 20-25 hands an hour, at a full table) over 40% of the hands are pushes and the house advantage is a small one. The Orleans is Pai Gow Poker heaven and the cocktail waitresses there are the best looking in LV, very hot outfits too...Orleans has plenty of $5 games even on Friday and Saturday nights..

Orleans isn't on the strip, but you can take their free shuttle from the Barbary Coast...The cocktail waitresses alone are worth the trip..

The cheapest way to drink and gamble is to play Penny and Nickel machines. Trust me when I tell you that nobody cares whether you are cheap or not. As for buying drinks on the strip. The cheapest places are going to be Casino Royale, The Barbary Coast, Slots O Fun etc. Drinks in the major casinos on the strip are more expensive and if you plan to drink in these places you are better to play a machine and get free drinks. Cocktail waitresses are not watching your play. If you are playing when they walk up and ask if you want a drink, they will give you your drink when they return. One note on this though. If you want to be treated well by the waitresses treat them well and always tip them.

nickle and penny slots are actually more expensive to gamble at if you play the max lines to maximize your winnings. If you sit at the bar with video machines at the bar, stick a $20 in and then order a drink and your drinks will be free. you can play one quarter at a time if you want. There is also Ellis Island behind Bally's off the strip with $1 micro brews that are great and the best pizza ever. You can also ask about their $5 steak dinner that's not on the menu. The place is kinda a dive but the food and brew are great.

Another cheap place on the strip is Slots A Fun next to Circus Circus. Imported beers for $1.75 compared to $6 at most strip casinos. Fremont Street also has more cheap deals on food and drinks than the strip.

You can buy your own beer or whatever and take it to the casino, they don't have open container laws like most cities. You can go to the store, walk outside, and crack open a beer. People do it all the time, just walk around and drink. Yeah, you can get free drinks if you're gambling but some places it can take forever to get a drink and I feel like a mooch spending $20 in the penny slot machines and sucking down free beer all night. I just brought my own in a plastic bag....like a hobo. It was great!

Inside the cheaper casinos. There is an Irish casino across the street from the Flmaingo, I think it is called fitzpatricks or something. I remember they had free drinks while you were playing of course, but even at the bar they had beer and mix drink specials for like 1 dollar all night long.

Find a really crowded low min black jack table if you want to do it gambling.

Or, hit the liquor store and get warmed up in your room before you go out and pay full price.

IP has a nice happy hour from 4-6. Buy one get one free.

Barbary Coast is pretty cheap for right on the strip too.

Do what I did- sit and play cheap slots or video poker and collect all the free drinks you want! After tipping of course. You can pretty much get drunk for 15 bucks. 15 drinks=$1 tip for every drink.

If yopu hover round the slots and play them whenever you see a waitress, you can drink for free. Gamblers don;t get charged for booze....I wonder why??
