yes i was a lot like that when i was 16. it always feels like something is holding you tight. or you are waiting for something to sprout within you so that you can do things and you always feel somewhat dull and all inside you.
i broke away from all that because i started to realize how this behavior/whatever in me is going to destroy my life. i couldn’t do well in anything. plus it was irritating to know that you can do it yet you are not doing it. in the future i can blame no one but myself. i don’t want to be ashamed of myself. i want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and be happy with what i am looking back at my own image. when all these thoughts came over me, i decided i had to change things in my life.
i started to get involved. i ate right. i exercised. i made sure that i get my As in class. now i am a science student, and will be graduating in a few months time. :)
just BREAK-AWAY from the current you.

Look on the bright side. You're sixteen and you know what you want to be and how to become it. I've met people in their forties and they still don't know what they want to do.
There could be a lot of things holding you back. For instance, you might be afraid of putting in all your effort into your dream and not succeeding. If that happens, well, the dream is gone. Sometimes we dream for the sake of dreaming.
It might be that while your conscious mind has come to the conclusion that this is what you're supposed to be doing, your subconscious mind (or intuition perhaps) has come to a different conclusion. Maybe it's a lot more work than you really want to do, or maybe the goal is someone else's and not yours.
I'm 24 years old and I've wanted to write since I was 12. But I haven't even tried to publish anything because I'm afraid that if I really commit to writing, I might find that I really suck at it. I really must stop being such a wuss about it, but there are always "more important" things I busy myself doing to avoid facing my fear of failure.
I know a lot of people - grown adults - who feel the way you do. That is not to say that you're going to feel this way for the rest of your life, but that uncertainty can affect people at any age.

Because its so easy to say something. They are merely words, but actions take so much more work and effort. People arent really lazy maybe they dont have the inspiration. If there is a goal to reach no matter how hard or easy, it will be tough to do if your not being supported. And with america being the self absorbed country that it is, most americans only care about their own agendas, if what your doing doesnt benefit them then they dont care. Maybe thats a little off but honestly I think its the lack of support and inspiration

alot of younger people know that hard work pays off, but they dont really believe that it pays off in the end, Its more about instant gratification instead of delaying for something bigger and better in the long run. Every sucessful person on the planet has realized this and followed through.
There will be a turning point when you will realize it is worth it to delay gratification for something better.
A great way to nuture this type of attitude is think positive, even if things go bad or you get in a slump is it just a learning phase, everything is positive.

I personaly dont like goals and sticking to them... Id much rather have things go by the fly of my pants... I guess just how I take life its a philosophy I live by the fact that I dont know when im gona die or what im gona learn next pretty much means to me that setting goal is like putting on blinders. I guess if forced to put my self into goal mode I would say sharing and learning about the world and myself are my goals. I dont know how or why but the universe/God provides for me to help me accompish my goal lol. I dont believe in lazy just as much as I dont believe in indifference or cold or hate...

The thing with life is that we have far less power over circumstances than we tend to believe.
Often successful people look down their noses at those who don't succeed (now who defines success anyways?).
These "successful" people do not realize how much their success depends on factors completely beyond their control.
For example, did the self-made man create the oxygen he needs to breath?
So just keep slugging, and don't get discouraged if things seem to go slow for now.
They will eventually pick up and you will see how well things go.

My conclusion has been the fear of failure. If you don't try to achieve your goals then you can not fail because your plan was bad or ill concieved where as if you try and fail then it's a lost dream. However what you need to remember is if you don't try at all then you will never have the possiblity of realizing your goals. IF you fail then remember you can always make new goals and chase new dreams.

Think about it: man is not perfect. They do things wrong on purpose ad they feel guity, but they keep on doing it.
Ex: 'Sorry' is very misused in the English language. Say if you were to sneak out of school, and you got caught. You say sorry, but why be sorry now when you knew you were going to be sorry in the first place? Kind of llike religion. You purposely do somthing wrong, you go to the church, pray for forgiveness, then you think you're all good, and you go out and do it again. I don't know how to put my observations in a more understandable manner, but all I could tell you is this: You're not the only one.

Maybe you don't believe you can do it or maybe you are afraid you can. I say pick one thing that you want to accomplish and do something each day that brings you closer to achieving it... that way it's not as scary. Mostly I think its great that you are 16 and asking questions like this... you are on your way to accomplishing anything.

When you've reached a certain age (like me over 50) you learn that you can only achieve your goals if you work at it! Make up your mind, set your goals and GO FOR IT!!! It works for me (and millions of other people who achieve our dreams)!
