the pain is so minor its like no big deal right now but its still there as period cramps. so is this the start of true labor? or can/will this go away? isnt this pain the stretching or your cervix?

Your starting to go into labour,m early stages. Good luck. Keep upright, walk around as much as you can, this really does work and speeds things up. Keep busy basically. Thats all you can do. As for a time scale, you cant say, everyone is different. I would say it depends if this is your first baby, as if it is not things can speed up quickly, but if your asking it must be your first. What I did was to right down when you get these little pains, right how long then last for, and how often they come, even though they are small. And if its feels stronger than the last one. Then you can see for your self whats going on. Also I would not suggest going to hospital until they are 5 mins apart and strong, as times seems to pass more slowly in hospital. I wish you all the luck in the world, you will soon be holding your baby!!!x

I know I'm a man but have 3 children and was very involved. 1st All women have contractions differently depending on where the pressure lies for instance my ex wife felt hardly none because alot of the pressure was on her spine for the 1st child and our second she had contractions which literally stood her up from a sitting position. My current wife had no contractions until she was in full labor so it really does vary. As far as time all i can tell you is be prepared. Walking can help as well as stimulating nerve endings and doctors have even suggested various styles of intercourse(including self intercourse) to speed things along but with you having membranes stripped i am not sure that is a good idea.

Stimulating your nipples will cause you to contract which causes you to dilate. That may help it come on quicker
