Yes and No. No not RIGHT out of High School. Yes they can go without going to college, although that will make it harder. Most go on to college because they are good enough to get the Scholarship and you have to wait 2 or 3 years after Graduation. That was why Clarrett tried to sue and failed. On the other hand, I believe it was Larry Fitzgerald, the one got special permission because even though he didn't meet that rule had he stayed in High School he would have graduated a year sooner. Instead he went to Military School to straighten up and took an extra year to graduate and go to College.
Actually Boondooksaint the owners DON'T own the team and CAN'T do whatever they want. They own an NFL Franchise. You have to follow Corporate rules when they give you a Franchise. Go talk to small companies that have franchises. Go talk to a fast food place and ask if they are a Franchise. If they say yes ask them if they have full power over the place and if they OWN the place and can do anything they want. If they are REALLY owned of the franchise they will tell you NO. They can't make the Corporation look bad so they have to answer to certain things or the Franchise can be revoked from them.

Yes, NFL players must be out of high school for 3 years before they can get in. They likely won't get drafted. They'll have to be a walk on, an undrafted free agent. Whatever position they play, they'd better be damn good at it. That's why it's best to go to college and either play at least 3 years, or red shirt the first year and play 2-3 years, then go pro.

No .. there is a 3-year after graduation rule in effect with the NFL office (either 3 years after graduation or completion of collegiate junior year). This was tested (and originally beaten) by Clarett in the court as an Anti-Trust violation. However, the Appeals court overturned that decision and the new decision was upheld by every higher court that the case was brought up to for review. The NFL established this rule to allow those players with serious intentions to try and play in the NFL to develop their skills and size so that they can handle the physical stresses and rigors on the professional circuit.

No. A player has to be three years removed from his high school eligibility before he can apply for the NFL draft.

No way he would be killed. High school boys are too small and too mentally under develped to enter into the NFL. Its not like basketball. NFL football would be way too physical for a high school boy's body.

Yes dont listen to them, but you have to wait till you are 21 after that the owners of a team can do whatever they want it is not up to the NFL!!!!!! They are not paying the contracts to the players the owners are and they can do whatever they want!!! You dont have to go to college but it is harder that way, but people have done it!

No, you have to wait at least 3 years after graduating, or have completed at least your Jr. year in college. The rule was tested by both Clarrett and Williams, but both lost their eligibility request in court. Because they both had hired agents because original court rulings allowed for them to enter, they were not alloud to come back and play college football their Jr years, and hurt their draft stock considerably.
