If you can find a job at a small hospital to admit people or answer the switchboard you will have lots of time to do homework or whatever you want. The pay is usually pretty good also. Or just try to find something you enjoy or something you want experience in that you can see as a potential career.

working at a supermarket (big chain like albertsons, stater bros, vons etc.) would be my advice. it pays decent, hours are pretty flexible and there is enough job advancement to keep you there and growing professionally for awhile, and even develop as a career if it ends up working out that way. i worked for vons for six years and my employer was able and willing to work around school schedules and such. it also paid pretty good and provided me with insurance. there is always the opportunity to work full time if you're situation changes and your experience at walmart will be helpful. my career was some time ago so i dont know what kind of benefits package is available to part-timers now, but i would definitely look into it. good luck.

Try the Marina. Lots of part time work. Lots of cool people. Dress code is lax. Something different everyday.

I agree with waiting tables. I have an associate's degree and workin on a bachelor's but I keep waiting tables because it's better money than anything my degree can get me.
