I usually just look at the pics. Much the same with pornos...If not I just figure it out by myself and it goes way faster.Especially if you skip the 10 pages talking about the On-Off button and the Warning ones : do not immerse blowdryer in your bath kinda thing! lol

I do neither. Why, not because I know what I am doing, it is because I might know someone who could help me. I can't stand manuals. I so like the easy to do instructions that go with it. Couldn't that make it easy for the stupid people like me.

I attempt without the instruction manual first. If I get stuck, then I'll break out the manual. :)

Instruction manual is some booklet you can read, but hard to understand!!!!
But for your information, it is good to read the IM and operate the unit at the same time, you can understand more...

I am a really confident person so i always try to do things on my own first! and it usually works. but when i have difficulty in installing something i then consult the instruction manual!
