How come if you crossdress for a joke its funny but if you do it because it feels right its seen as wrong?

Does this really make sense. Some people got me to do it as a joke and it was respected, but when others found out i did it normally it was disrespected.

i suppose i do look feminine when i do it but it is to release stress. I never do it infront of my mates so they shouldnt really feel confronted. Its more a private thing.

because what some dont understand they will think is wrong I say if you are happy cross dressing and no harm comes to anyone then cross dress on and be proud you are mature enough to actually feel comfy in mens pants or a silk dress with heels

Because when the show's over, take off the costume and become your normal self which is the gender you were born to be. That's what other actors do. You do have a point that it's hilarious if it's a joke because it's unnatural is why we laugh in the first place maybe. I think when you take a joke seriously and live in it, well, I would think that wasn't normal at all to keep craving the attention continually. I don't understand it so don't have all the answers. Why do you want to do that though? I happen to like being a feminine woman as I was born female so will argue against Christian women who think it's alright to wear pants (that which pertaineth to a man) but it's not alright for men to wear dresses. Same thing with short cut hair on women and long hair on men who claim to be Christians. There's definitely a difference in the sexes and it is meant to be that way. I say it's the same thing and now I'll get the hate mail from BOTH sides, ha!

Either way, I don't understand the disrespect honestly.

I mean we women have been "crossdressing" for decades and no one seems to mind...at least not anymore.

I think when a man does it some feel it emasculates the male species in general. But that only goes to show the typical male mind...and how sad that is.

The complusive cross dresser feels a NEED to cross dress. He may exhibit addiction patterns. For instance, he may try to purge himself of cross dressing only to return even worse than before. He may describe his initial cross dressing experience in terms similar to an addict on a high. His brain releases a series of powerful neurotransmitters which produce a sensation of well-being, pleasure, sexual gratification and self-identity. Over the course of several years he will try harder and harder to achieve a higher high. He will work hard at looking more feminine. He will develop a female alter-ego, and even give "her" a name. Eventually he will fall in love with his female alter-ego. Most compulsive cross dressers are heterosexual and get married. They want their wives to encourage their cross dressing. However the wives grow tried of this and complain about being treated like their husband's second love. Their children are taught to keep daddy's secret or risk the ridicule of their peers. They lose respect for their father. When the cross dresser gets into his 40's he takes greater risks with his cross dressing. He finds himself in a crisis and considers means, such as surgery, to look more passable. He may even abandon his wife and family to pursue his first love.

People are afraid of things that they don't understand. When they are afraid they either get angry as a defense or laugh at it for the same reason. If they can laugh at it, it's ok because they don't have to try to understand it. When it's for real, they are still afraid and still don't understand but this time they don't know how to react. They are suddenly confronted with something that they know nothing about and instead of working on understanding it, they don't know what to do, how to react. It's easier to be angry or upset than admit that you don't get something or are afraid of it. It's totally wrong.. I am usually very intrigued by things that I don't understand but most folk like to stay in a safe little ordinary zone.

I think anytime you cross-dress you're doing it because it feels right. There's always a reason for you to cross-dress & if someone thinks it's wrong, well that's usually because:

1. They're affraid to admit that they'd like to try it & don't want anyone else to know.

2. They already crossdress & they want to keep it secret.
