one of my tortoises have laid egs and we burried them in sand.(not too deep) upon checking it we found that there are movements. how long does it take for the young to emerge and do we have to feed and care for them

Well with turtle eggs you want to make sure you put them when you moved them the same way you took them from. Normally turtle eggs hatch any where from 30 to 60 days after hatching depending on heat, and humidity. I have had my turtle eggs hatch in 35 days and turtle eggs hatch at 60 days. Always make sure you mark the top of the egg with a felt tip marker to mark the way the egg was sitting before you moved it.

It depends on the temps. It usually runs about 2-3 months, but can be anywhere from 1 to 10 months.
