how can i switch beween kernalmode and usermode using c++ program in winxp os?

i am writing a program which access io ports which is giving access violation error

kernel mode is only for the Operating System itself(in XP only),but for using common ports you can grant access easily.your violation error can be becuase of unauthorized access of some memory areas.
