Egyptian cotton forms long, silky fibers that can be spun into threads that are finer and stronger than regular cotton, and can therefore be woven more tightly; more threads to the inch feels smoother and yet lasts longer.

I have no idea why your husband is itching, but it isn't because of the sheets themselves; they should be very smooth and comfortable. It may be the sizing that was used. Wash them again, and be sure to use a hypo-allergenic detergent. Sometimes it takes two or even three washings to get out all the sizing.

Egyptian cotton has always been more expensive since the fiber from Egyptian cotton balls is longer than the fibers from other cotton sources. Longer fiber (staple) leads to softer smoother yarn (thread) and the cloth woven from it is also softer and smoother and perhaps whiter as well. The itching may be because of some chemicals used to treat the fabric before it is sold. Am not an expert on allergies and wont comment beyond that! :-)

Its is because the cotton is the finest on the market, it is 100% organic, and these bed sheets are woven to a high and luxurious thread count fabric. The higher thread count allows for a tighter weave, more lustrous appearance, and a softer touch.

It will as someone said that it may take a few washes to make them less stiff.

I had to wash mine about 4 times before they softened. I would love some more. but as they are a little expensive I will be waiting a while.

As for making your hubby itchy, I don't think it would being pure cotton. Have you changed you washing powder?

Good luck

I agree with aunt and avi its the type of fiber ( the region and climate and seed makes for the particular sought after feature and hence the price) and how its used and washing the sheets again in detergent like Dreft ( you and often find it in teh bay section or the household section of chain market store) should solve the problem UNLESS he is allergic to cotton withc is unlikely since most clothes are cotton blends of some type.... maybe he is allergic to the price tag?

Egyptian cotton sheets have a much tighter weave than regular sheets and are known to wear better and last longer. That's the
only difference. Sorry about your husband, but it's not the sheets.

Education is good, because it teaches you how to learn, how to discipline your mind. Knowledge for a Christian is knowing the word, knowing your God, His nature, His will, His outlook on things. Wisdom is looking at things from God's perspective and putting them into action. Knowledge is great, but too much of it can puff you up if you don't counteract it with fruit of the Spirit. Ever know a person who's very knowledgeable, but has no temperance and no love? Their knowledge is almost useless in the long run. But wisdom? You find that and your soul shall live, because when you find wisdom, you find the way God Himself looks at a situation. Proverbs 3: By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

Could be coincidence if its cold where you are.Tell him (right)after he gets out of the shower to lotion up.The pores are more receptive to the lotion from the heat opening them up. Other wise maybe its because the fabric was made from a different animal, but that wouldn't seem right once it's sterile.Good Luck!
