You do not specifically say which news item or category you are looking for, so here is an easy way that you can get news from a previous day through Yahoo or another popular site.

(1) Create an account on an RSS reader, such as www.bloglines.com.

(2) Subscribe to one or more news feeds from sites that you trust, such as Yahoo! News. This is simple to do.

(3) The RSS reader will aggregate and store links to news stories as they are generated on your preferred sites. You can them read them at your leisure, the next day or whenever. It will even keep track of which headlines you have read, and which ones you have not. There is also a drop-down box that lets you display articles from yesterday, the past week, etc.
