Do people in the UK actually look up to this buffoon? What exactly makes her a celebrity? I mean when was she on BB, talk about flogging a dead horse. Is the average Briton proud to have this mental midget as a spokesperson for your country? Anyone else want to beat her with a stick back under the rock from whence she came?

I "diss" her because she puts herself in the public eye, to be scrutinized, and she acts like a moron. As far as having her own perfume, did she invent the smell, or did a perfume lab, develop some smells and she just picked a "pretty" one. Jealousy, I think not. Such a contributor. And money might buy some respect from the weak, but it certainly doesn't earn mine.

Well, Nick, I think you've got your answer - I can't believe so many of these people backed her. I must be missing something. I didn't see her on BB, I didn't live in UK at that time yet. I don't hate her, 'cos she's not worth such a strong emotion, I just feel sorry for her. Building a career on your own stupidity is very sad indeed. And so sad must be the individuals who admire her for making so much money. Probably because they've never heard of people like Bill Gates or Richard Branson, who deserve real admiration. I don't have problem with anybody earning a lot of money, but I'd rather be on a comfortable income doing a job that I enjoy than promenade my stupidity on telly for hundreds of thousands of pounds, but that's me.
It's funny how people are ready to point out Britney Spears (who is a singer and not a useless Z-list celeb) is a bad mother and a bad example for her 2 sons just because she went ot a club with no knickers on. But nobody says anything about Jade Goody - she also has 2 boys, what kind of example does she set to them with her stupidity? And if she's not as that stupid and only playing it as an image, that's even sadder. Paris Hilton has at least some style if nothing else.
You know, I bet Jade has no idea who Oliver Cromwell or Winston Churchill are!

Nick you seem to know an awful lot about someone you dislike! why waste your time on a (in your words) buffoon? its seems to me you've concerned yourself over someone you would'nt normally give the time of day! Personally i like Jade, i think she has made herself a decent career, shes earned a lot of money and has become the most successful big brother contestant to date. I am totally with you on this and although most people who make a success of their lives deserve respect, I don't think that credit is due to those who are showered with money and recognition for doing absolutely nothing. It makes me angry that there are starving people all over the the world and charities for cancer and other life-threatening diseases, for whom just a month's income of these so-called celebrities could make a huge difference, yet these TV producers and glossy magazines just throw it all away on idiots like Jade who has done NOTHING WHATSOEVER to deserve the lifestyle she's got apart from slob around in a house for a few weeks.
Apparently, there's a bit of an uproar among the celebrities who are about to go into the BB house tonight because they don't want her back in there with them. Why is that I wonder? Because it's shameful that she's being put into the same category as these other stars who have most probably achieved their status through having a bit of talent, which is much more than can be said for Jade. Their attitude towards her just speaks for itself.

shes not a spokesperson for the country. well she certainly doesn't speak for me. I sense some jealousy here. OK so she came across as a complete a** when she was on BB. But obviously there are plenty of people who do like her and she used that to her advantage and it has bought her wealth and fame. She is a successful business woman now ( so I read somewhere) she is also a millionaire. So whilst I don't really give a toss about her, I say good on her and credit where its due.

I'm British, I don't like her, she drives me nuts, I think she acts thick because that's what got her "famous" and got a couple of quid in her pocket. I don't think she is as thick as she makes out.
You said about the perfume she brought out and how she picked a "pretty" one from the lab.....don't every celebrity do that though? J.Lo, Kylie etc.

I think you've got to hand it to to the girl who has low intelligence yet she's found a niche on tv that's working for her.
The girl has come fron BB and become one of the most successfull contestants with, is it 3 tv shows to her credit now?
I don't like the girl, can't stand her voice, her attitude and would never watch her but i have admiration for anyone who has become successfull enough to be able to retire before they are 40.
Let's hope she does.

I quite like the American idea. They only have a limited number of celebrities, like the top 100 or something. For someone to get on the list, someone else has to get OFF it.
For instance is Duncan Goodheugh stilll a celebrity? ..or Hazel O'Connor?

Jade Goody is an embarrassment. She certainly is not a 'celebrity'. She cannot speak properly, has a very limited IQ, and has a face reminiscent of a bag of spanners. Why on earth the media insist on promoting this person is beyond me. I know, from her own admission, that one of her favourite pastimes is turning up a showbiz parties and trying to get in by saying 'It's me, Jade, off Big Brother.' and hoping to get in to mix and be seen with real celebrities. Fortunately she is usually refused entry. I don't blame them for that.
