Overpopulation and all the consequences related thereto like poverty, natural resource depletion, environmental degradation, chronic food shortages, disease and epidemics, riots, and ultimately political instability and war. P.S. Today's Sunday Boston Globe Ideas section contains an interview with a population expert who reports that population rates are leveling off and that in the not to distant future declining population rates can be safely predicted. But, apparently, those declines will not be without cost. I think his argument assumes a successful transition to a world wide green economy that is anything but assured at this point in time. Certainly in the United States, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Ireland there are no funds to be had to lead such a transition absent new taxes or more deficit spending, of which only the United States might be capable of handling. I'm not sure how the gentleman accounts for increased longevity in the general population. By how much do birth rates need to decline to offset this trend. For example, if 50 years from now the Chinese health care model looks like the American model with ever larger members of the population living vastly longer, and perhaps even in a very decent state of health, how does this not exacerbate food and natural resource management problems? I'm no expert in this field so perhaps there are answers that I have not grasped which will mean that stabilized and or declining populations will require less food, natural resources, space, et cetera. But I'm not truly convinced that that will be the case.

Bible prophesies as they are being fulfilled and where I and the latest news items fit into it all as it unfolds. Seeing the wickedness of this generation and wondering how long before Christians are beheaded for not taking the Mark of the Beast and for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Prophesy includes the sun getting so hot that men will blaspheme God but still not repent. I wonder if Christians will be here at that time. It also says except those days be shortened, no flesh would be saved. Family is important and the message of the Gospel to a lost and dying world. Being ready for the Lord's return in this generation that has so increased in knowledge as was also prophesied.

To me it is important that people learn to live in tolerance towards each other and do away with misconceptions such as Muslims are terrorists, Christians are misguided persons, Jews are evil etc. So global politics is very important to me as the manipulations to the world leaders all play on these prejudices and they intentionally brainwash innocent citizens against certain races/religions/people. etc

I get stressed out about what goes on in the world. It's really depressing. Thousands of Palestinians killed, tens or even hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed, warfare in Sudan and Somalia (and fragile "peace" in other African countries), children are killed before they are born while others are abused after they are born, oppressive regimes suffocate the freedom of the people...as I said, it's depressing.
