Asexuality is when people aren't attracted to any gender; usually asexual people either dont date or date purely platonic relationships (ones without feeling). To know if someone is asexual, they are usually heavily preoccupied with things other than relationships and/or appear extremely uninterested in dating. Don't base it purely on their physical attractions, however, as long as they can be emotionally attached to someone they aren't asexual. And to answer your last question, they are asexual because they were born with a hormonal receptor in their brain that wasn't excited by either male nor female pheromones.

I have no idea. It's an interesting concept and I think it's far more common than is socially noticed. I was on some medication for a while that completely took away my sex drive...Zip!..it wasn't so bad..I was really relaxed all the time LOL. --but no, I don't think science has an answer to that anymore than they do to the homo/hetero/bi/trans questions.

See the book by Dr. Patrick Carnes:

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Asexuality is often the flip side of the coin of sexual addiction, and it can afflict straights, gays, lesbians, and bisexual people.

Asexual is a term used to describe a type of reproduction in which a new individual develops either from a single cell or from a group of cells in the absence of any sexual process. Humans can't do that.

Asexual is a term that's often misused in place of celibacy, ugliness, bad personality, or "morals".

asexual is not having any sexual desire for either sexes. Then again if you see pictures of these asexual people , they look like a bunch of geeks , plain janes, and loser morons.
