There's a play called "and they dance real slow in jackson" about a girl with muscular dystrophy, her monologues in it are really emotional and dramatic but quite challenging. look it up, they're good if you have a strength in bringing on the tears. Otherwise, if you're looking for comedy, try a play called "shakers" or find some of the LAMDA set exam pieces, there'll be a huge selection of monologues there.

The play "Talking With" by Jane Martin. This play consists of 11 monologues of different women who have their own conflicts and their different coping mechanisms. I got a comedy out of here that got me a lead part in a play. And since there are 11, I'm sure you can find one that will fit the character you're auditioning for.
You will have the chance to cut down and pick what you want out of each monologue, as they are rather lengthy.

Emily's speech at the end of Our Town by Thornton Wilder may work, but you will have to cut out some of the other lines. Don't worry about the cuttings--it still works as one long monologue.
