It is possible to change an impression that was first given. It's hard to bounce back after you insult someone right from the start. How can someone not be offended when you call them something they are not? It helps sometimes to simply think before you type. What you must realize is that there are real people on the other side of the avatars. Just think before you type next time. It could make all the difference.

"It's a good rule to follow the first law of holes... when you are in one... stop digging!" (can't remember who said it).

Yes, it is possible. My first impression of my best friend was "Who the HELL does this guy think he is?" His first impression of me was... "What a B*TCH!!!"

Maybe stop apologizing. You can only do so much. Maybe she will see this and... Maybe email this question to her? And if that doesn't improve things, maybe she is someone you don't really want in your life. Sounds kinda high maintenance. (But then I really have no idea what you said to her!)

Of Course! Apologize without expecting forgiveness. It may take some time depending on what the insult was. Then move on.

Of course there is. There's always a second impression, and a third, and a fourth, etc.

Apologize and maybe leave her alone for a little while.
