Tank size should be at least 10 gallons of water per inch of shell length. Plan ahead- Red-ears can get 9-12" long.

I breed red eared sliders. My hatchlings are kept in ten gallon tanks until they reach the size of a silver dollar then are moved to 45 and 55 gallon tanks. 2 sliders per 55 gallon tank. Once they reach the 4 inch size they are moved to giant rubber tub that can hold any where from 125 to 400 gallons of water. Rememeber red eared slider will grow pretty large for an aqautic turtle. My largest measuring across her shell side to side is about 8 inches across and she is in a rubber tub that holds 200 gallons by her self
