the best products to sell online are digital so that there is no shipping expense and it's the same cost of production whether you sell 1 or 1 million.
the 2 most effective types of products are software and pornography -- software because you develop one copy and sell it indefinitely, and pornography because the demand is so high and you can sell memberships that people forget to cancel.
software is probably harder to develop to a level that will really make you a ton of money (there are many thousands of small apps made by people trying to make it big but don't have a revolutionary idea), and of course porn isn't the most moral industries to get involved with.

Any software. its an easy way to bypass all the trouble selling it in a store. Theres high demand for it. online software companies make billions each year. Also hosting space. A bunch of developers looking for servers for a low price. You could get as much as ten bucks a month per site you host and each site would only be taking up 1 gig of memory per site.

I can honestly say 7 out of 10 people need this product!! We have an opportunity to get the word out and offer help to those who need our services. It's affordable and the market is huge!! This can all be done online!!

Unfortunately anything with a digital delivery (i.e. porn, pictures, music files, etc) will be quickly distributed for free elsewhere on the net. That leaves online ordering for tangible goods, so you need to find something that people will always need, rare enough that you won't have a billion competitors, and a cheap way to get it to them.

I actually work from home full time. I threw in my 9 to 5 to do this full time and have not looked back since. It works for me and maybe could work for you. I believe any internet home based idea you have can be turned into a success.
