does anyone believe that sadam hussein may still be alive?

what if he was freed by his own people? and replaced by a person impersonating him (this was done before). Does anyone else think this could be a possibility?

There may be people who think not, but no, he's dead. I've seen a hanging in Asia (don't ask) and the set of a person's jaw when their neck is snapped is hard to fake. See the way his teeth were off-centered and grinded tothether? Unless they dragged in a double and murdered him, he's dead. A DNA sample would have been nice to extract and examine, though. Doubt that they would have allowed it, though. Remember, they can still dig him up and do a DNA. Hitler had four doubles. They found one in Berlin in 1945 with a hole in his forehead floating in a water tank. Wrong body weight and poor man's clothing tipped it off. I, like you, would like to see that a blood sample had been taken just before his got his neck stretched. Hanging takes an expert. Do it wrong, and the head popps off or he just gaggs there for twenty minutes like Mary Surratt at the Lincolin execution in 1865. When I saw the metal trap door and style of noose, I knew he was in the hands of a professional. The hangman even objected to the cameras. But it is a good thing. Sneaking in the cameras and cell phones pretty much proves it. It was like catching Hitler and bringing him to trial and executution. What I am also pretty sure of is that Bin Laden is dead. He was sickly (and sick). He would have put out one of his famous tapes if he was still around.

Could be, anything is possible He did have , like, 50 impersonators running around Iraq. You cant trust any government to tell the truth about anything. I'd rather say it was a possibility he could be alive, than to be surprized when he emerges again with a vengeance. Yes, someone got hanged, but do we have any d.n.a. evidence that it was Saddam? And Hangings can be faked too. Did we have a Doctor in there assuring us that he was deceased?

I don't know where some of the people on this thread have been living for the last few years, but Saddam was quite notorious throughout the world media for having a number of body doubles whom he would send out to various locations, so as to foil assassination attempts.

Could it be that one of these guys has been executed instead of him?

Possible. Unlikely, I'd say - but certainly possible.

what proof do you have to support it was done before, and whats the difference if that actually was the case? the public would believe him to be dead, and thats that.

My first thought is, "WHO CARES". Those people love killing each other, and if it's not one despot, it's another. Ignore 'em or nuke 'em, but don't waste your time worrying about them. They sure don't care about you.
