I have a degree in graphic design, have 10 years of job experience and I live in Athens - Greece. My boyfriend and I are thinking of moving to Phoenix - Arizona in a couple of years since its possible he'll have the chance to work and study at the same time there. How can I ensure that I'll be able to work there, preferably as a graphic designer - illustrator as I do now in Greece? Do I have to begin doing some research now and does anyone have any suggestions on who to contact?

Come in on a raft off the coast of florida like everybody else. You do realize that living here is not that great. there is no culture, our president is a dumbass and the crime here is never ending. Plus almost every country hates us. Rethink your voyage.

Oh there is plenty of work here. Arizona is pretty hot! I would look at advertising firms and big corporations based in Arizona. If you are good there is a lot of work. My friend does that and he has done very well for himself working at home. 3 house in CA/ 2 in San Francisco. All from graphic design. My friend had very little training just a lot of talent and determination.
Good luck!

If you are not a US citizen or Immigrant. In order for you to get a job in the US is to have a H-1B Visa, this is like a working permit. You can find this in www.us citizenship.info.com and click on the right for working permit H-1B Visa,it will just cost you around $65 dollars. This is just a catalog that tells you what to do to get a job in the US. Good luck.

you need to get a green card, graphic designing jobs are on the rise but they usually only hire people with experience or come from a well known college or university...good luck!!
