GearSpec - I agree with you on the disk space explosion issue but bear in mind that when we all have fibre optic connections to the internet and connect through gigabit switches, we'll no longer need to invest capital in having a hard disk that is basically redundant if you can store your data in cyberspace. It's not inconceivable that in a few years' time we have only a screen with integrated graphics card, a router and an input device.
As for buying google.com.bn or whatever - it's not quite as simple as that... try buying up names that contain the word google and you'll soon find yourself with hefty legal bills and you'll lose your case - you have no legal right to buy up copyright names in order to hold corporations to ransom and this will always end in your not having enough cash to take on a large corporation let alone win your case!
