Why are American such barbarians?

When the rest of the civilized world turns their back on capital punishment, the US continues it's barbaric ways with revenge killings. Why does the US think they need an annual defence budget of half a trillion dollars and are the ones to invade foreign nations? Why does the US feel it has the right to the largest stockpile of weapons of mass destruction yet other nations are not? Why are American such barbarians?

First of all
I don't know what world you are living in
but this "rest of the civilized world" garbage doesn't fly here, hoss
There isn't a country on the freaking planet that doesn't participate in some form of capital punishment (a couple of them say they don't but yet have active programs that allow the use of it under "the most restrained conditions")
And of the countries that have "revenge killings"--- the U S A is so far down on the list---you'd probably fall asleep reading the list before you GOT TO US !! Within the world there are tens of thousands of people killed every year in all sorts of foreign lands for hundreds of varying reasons that doesn't have a damn thing to do with the USA------
The next thing
the reason that the USA has the defense and military budget that it does is because WE ARE THE WORLD POLICE-- there is no other that can do the freakilng job---and if it wasn't for all the little meglomaniac lunatics running around the globe trying to take the freaking thing over---there wouldn't BE a need for such stuff--and your hollaring about something that WE have to pay for---we keep all kinds of tyrants from over running you and everybody else and the American taxpayer is the one that gets the bill---what YOU complaining about-- of course-- unless YOU are one of the dudes that we're after ???
AND, then there's this INVADE other countries deal---well stud-- the ONLY country we've EVER invaded is IRAQ and that one got sold to the American citizen by an administration that doesn't have a problem with lying its butt off --- but the heart of the common American was in the right place in all of that because we were told that that country had US on its target list---but-- we also are trying to do the right thing by keeping our guys at the job of holding that place together as best we can at the present---we could however simply leave and let the whole thing go to hell in a handbag and you know that's exactly what would happen !!!

we just seem that way to people who don't know us very well

If you REALLY knew us , you'd love us beyond belief
We are actually all quite warm and cuddly !!!
We love soft music and firelight dinners---long walks on the beach at sunset-- our homes and children--and our pets---we get all teary eyed over the silliest things and have a passion about stuff like July 4th picnics and football !!!!
And that's why we will blow the bleeding hell out of ANYONE that tries to take any of that away from us-----anyone !!!!!

There is no doubt that the United States of America is the most generous country in terms of dollar amount for foreign aids, yet many countries resent America. Why is this? Why is the United States often cursed rather than blessed by the very people who receive American aids? Is it because America's charity giving overseas is linked to its own political and economic agenda? Or is it because other countries are simply envious of America's wealth and its status as the only superpower?

It is because of the leadership and who we vote into office, and because we really don't know that much about other countries and other possible ways to govern. As far as things like weapons of mass destruction, that has to do with those creating them fighting for a share of tax dollars and then needing to rationalize the amount they ask for.

It's not only the US, something else is that not all Americans are in US, but isn't only the US, How many other nations have the capital punishment? I know that in the Middle East have it to, at least in many countries in that area.

Someone will always be the "King of the Hill'. The English, French, and Spanish all had their day. Now it is us. We may not be the answer to everything, but better us than Saddam or some other intolerant regime.
