The Language of Baklava: A Memoir by Diana Abu-Jaber. It's a wonderful story of her wacky half-Jordanian, half-American family, and her childhood, spent moving back and forth between Jordan and the USA. Abu-Jaber uses the narrative to define what it means to be Arab-American. Her novel Crescent is also a very good read.

THE ALCHAMIST... it is 1 of the best books i have ever read.. i actually felt sad when i finished it..and now am starting a book called RECLESS DESIRE it sounds nice
