I've been watching an unhealthy amount of national geographic, science channel and the discovery channel.

what i notice is that there's an obscene amount of assuming being done in the name of fact or "probability".

You've got some dude who figures some dude is buried in some place and it's the worlds right to see his bones and gaze in awe at his treasures in some museum. Then there's the other dudes arguing over what's in the middle of a galaxy, how the universe is made, and are making computer models to prove it, blahblahblah.

So, I guess what I'm asking is if there should be boundaries to what we should know. And then maybe acceptance of what we don't.

Should we strive to find the answer's to all things? Is that our evolution?

Should we dig up that dudes grave to find all those buried secrets and mysteries? Do we really need to know what's at the end of the universe, and how it was made? is it necessary? Or are we just inevitably assuming things and calling them fact or probability?

I see where you're coming from with the respect aspect, but as someone who has a thirst for knowledge and advancement, I have to say that there are countless amazing benefits to archaeology, etc. I certainly wouldn't want some shmo digging up my grandparents any time soon, but when it comes to future generations figuring out how we lived, we owe it to them to give them some guidance - whether it be insight into our advancements and lessons learned or warnings for mistakes we have made. After reading Ayn Rand's anthem, I am not one to think keeping history in the dark is a good idea at all. The world would become so simple and cyclic that it could end up destroying itself.

With all of that said, I think the only boundaries we should have should be those of the people around us. Social boundaries may exist a way to buffer ourselves from the bare and often cruel parts of human nature. But to remain blind to the world around us, past and present, will only be a disservice to us and future generations who will hopefully inhabit that slowly diminishing planet.

It's not the SEARCH for knowledge that is the problem, otherwise we wouldn't bother investigating crime to find the perpetrators, or finding cures for disease, or inventing all manner of tools to make life easier. It's what we DO with that knowledge that matters, ie; not blowing each other to death, or ransacking the planet.

Assumption, however, should always be a conscious expression of a theory with an element of doubt, (which leaves the mind open), and not a declaration of truth. We like 'mystery', precisely because it creates a space for questioning and imagination.
The important point is to aim to find answers with integrity, and without arrogance.

When I die, and buried, I expect that no one will dig me up, that is simple not right.

I get your point, "probability" it is just an idea of thing that was or will be, focus only on the facts ( theories that are proofed. )

Good Luck, and go take a walk to breath some fresh air.

Maybe you should stop watching TV and start reading - perhaps that will also improve your language skills . . . .
