If you're traveling from the United States or Europe, you are most probably going to fly into Narita International Airport which is the closest international airport to Tokyo, but is not in Tokyo proper. The fastest and most efficient way to travel from the airport to Tokyo is via the Narita Express train (runs on average every twenty minutes). It is far less expensive than to take a taxi and faster than the commuter buses.

You would arrive at the main Tokyo train station, from where you can catch the subway to Shinjuku.

Shinjuku is a neighborhood of Tokyo. Use the Tokyo Narita Airport.

The closest airport would definitely be Narita Airport. But it takes abt 1 hour and 30 mins to reach Shinjuku without traffic jams.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and the place where over 13 million people live, making it one of the most populous cities in the world but also, a big city to visit, find out more with hotelbye . Most of the city was devastated by the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, and then again by the bombing in the WWII, however, Tokyo was able to achieve a remarkably rapid recovery both times. The main attraction of Tokyo is the Imperial Palace with its beautiful 17th-century parks surrounded by walls and moats. The palace is still in use by the Imperial family.

Haneda is the closest airport to Shinjuku but it only has international flights on China Airlines, so you are probably going to want to go through Narita.
