You want to get started by doing your high school play. Then, see if you really like it. If you do, then go to college and major in theatre. Then, go to Hollywood or New York and showcase your skills.

I would second that opinion from above. Doing a play in high school will give a good intro to what theatre is all about. Though fun and rewarding, it is much more work than people understand. If, after doing some shows in high school, you have a passion for the stage, try your skills at the college level...especially in a city like Los Angeles or San Fran.
Don't rush out an get an agent. They'll only take your money and run. Work on your skills on stage, get as much experience as you can, and explore this amazing craft.
Best of Luck!

I love to act too just like you. I participate in classroom plays if there are. Join some school organizations which involves acting or acting clubs, i mean. Perform really well so that people will recognize you and you will get more roles in acting scenes in school plays and others. and eventually things will continue. Just practice and practice the dialogues. Feel it. Put you heart into it. If you are going to act, study the role and you can put yourself into the shoes of the character so you will probably understand and feel the emotion of the character, so that you can better express and act well with regard to the character. Watch some television shows like dramas, comedies or whatever so that you will get more ideas on how to act in some scenes. Be open minded so that ideas can help you further in your acting prowess.

When you say a line, do not think about your "emotion" - that's called emoting, and it is a sign of amateur acting.
Your should be focused on the "action" of the line. This does not mean moving around - it's not a physical action. The "action" of the line is: What are you trying to get out of the other person?
In other words, why are you saying the line? What do you hope to do to the other character by saying this line? Everything you do should happen because you are trying to do something to another character.

Audition audition and audition!! You will never get a start at being an actress unless you auditon!! Rejection kills, and it knocks you on you butt, there are other roles and other directors. So when you get the words "sorry, you're not the girl for the role" keep on trying until you hear, "wow...here's your script"
Good luck...and enjoy yourself acting!!

Go find community production of Annie or something with kids in it. Spend some time with the actors, see if you like living like them. If you want it just for the fame, don't bother, you won't make it. If you love the art and wouldn't mind mild success and fame, then go for it and roll the dice.
