Safe from pregnancy? There are really no SAFE days. It's possible even to get pregnant having sex DURING your period. The days immediately following and immediately before a period are considered to be the most "risk free" days, but there are NO guarantees.

Nope. My wife and I conceived our child on the last day of her 8 day period. We had been holding off for 3 months after she went off the pill (not completely, but using other methods of birth control)-- and we had our first go at it no condom, no nothing on the last day of her period to get back in the swing. We both went back to work the next day and five days went by before we knew it and hadn't got a chance to play around again. Bam- she was pregnant, felt ill and everything. Every ultrasound she had (due to her age, we had 3), all said that the baby was conceived that night. So don't want to scare you, but unless I have some sort of supersperm, there is no such thing as a safe day. I got robbed of a good 2-3 months of trying due to it.

Get a book called, Your fertility symptoms. It will answer all your questions. You can check your fertility with your cervical mucus. However, it is never fool proof. Nothing is. If you don't want to get pregant you need to use birth control. Your most fertile days are usually day 10-15.

For one week before the onset of menstruation and and for one week after menstruation. These two periods ouught to be safe for not getting pregnant.
