I'm in highschool and sometimes people prank call me at midnight or later trying to talk to me or one time my mom (a teenager called telling her she was her friend?!?! wtf my mom's 50). I'm getting really pissed off and I'm wondering what the best response is to a prank caller to make to feel scared or guilty for calling.

I also heard about the whistle idea. I also heard it was a bad idea..Why?? If they do the same to you. May be in for a busted eardrum. Simply hang up and they'll get bored when they get no reaction....

Its very simple you get caller i.d and dont answer phone calls from numbers you dont know, or you get an answering machine.
Alternatively you unplug the phone at night, if you are not in situation where anytime you may get some urgent news late in the night. The ringer can be turned off, and simply tell your mum that u r getting stupid calls and you do not wish to encourage them.

there is a feature that you can get with your phone to only allow calls that are unblocked to come through and you can see their number on the caller id screen. there is also another feature you can order that the person has to say who they are before the call goes through.
you can't make them feel scared or guilty. just put in one of these features and after awhile they will realize that they are not affecting you and will move on to some other worthless activity.

Yell and scream. Or simpley say "I have caller ID idiot and if you dont stop calling me, The police will be calling you" in a slightly happy or non emotional way

CALL YOUR PHONE COMPANY. THEY CAN TELL YOU THE NUMBER TO DIAL TO HAVE THE CALL TRACED. IT'S NOT *69 EITHER. THAT DOESN'T WORK IF THE NUMBER IS BLOCKED. THE PHONE COMPANY WILL GIVE YOU THE INFO...OTHERWISE IF YOUR NOT GOING TO PRESS CHARGES....DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE.

this is what I had to do to my husbands ex who was harrassing me...answer the phone when they start in, push a number down and hold it....for a very long time.

Say you're tracing the call and the next time they call you're gonna get them. Or keep *69ing them and say you know where they live and you can see them.

keep a whistle by the phone and blow it full blast into the phone receiver ....they"ll NEVER call back after that
