I have a 84 cressida that was totaled in an accident, but smog equipment is in tact. I really need a car and found a 82 corolla that is only $500 but has no smog cert so I was wondering if I buy this way cheap, but runs car, and it fails smog and needs parts, will the stuff from my other car fit it?

and yes, I know in california it is responsibility of seller to do smog, but all the cars in my price range, not 1 has already been smogged, so it's an at risk deal. So far in my experience I've only been burned 1 time.

cars usually don't fail smog for lack of smog equipment. Of course they have to have the smog equipment in place for a visual inspection. But no, there is probably not one thing from the cressida that would work on the corolla. 6 cyl. vs. 4 cyl.
