Electric cars, environmental problems better, better schools, cheaper colleges, better access to health care.
Really nasty stuff.

Two things..
First.. what do you mean, WHAT WOULD, and IF???? What world are you living in... the youth of today WILL RUN THE WORLD starting very soon... their likes/dislikes already control what we see on television and at the movie theater... and fashion....
Second. Stop stereotyping. Only 2-3% of teenagers historically get involved with criminality to the degree that they're involved with juvenile probation. The other 97-98% may not all be Einstein, but there are some darned fine kids in this world doing some pretty amazing things!
Go to a local high school play, or sporting event. Catch a choral performance or band performance... an art exhibit... whatever the kids in your area are doing... Make sure you actually take time to see what these kids are like. They're awesome!

hold on a second....the 60's & 70's was known for youth going against what was established as acceptable at the time and for drug and alcohol use/abuse and the 80's drums up the images of "greed is good", punk rock and street gangs. IMHO the 90's was the sanest decade we've seen in a long time and that's where the youth of today comes from.
what ppl say about the youth today was said about the youth 10, 20, 30 and 50 years ago. Move on.

As if the current governments of the world are run by moral people? We have drunkards, drug addicts, and hypocritical bastards who pay lip service to the Constitution, take corporate bribes to make legislation, and sell out our country to the highest foreign bidder. What in the hell makes you think the adults on this planet are doing any better than "the youth" would do? Get your head out from your one-way digestive tract, and quit acting like a crotchety old man.

not all youth are like that but i understand what you're saying...ppl of my age group do seem to be self centered, uneducated and wild...but i guess its been that way for generations just the kinds of wildness have changed - a large part of it is that too many use the mass media as their moral, spiritual and political guide when that is the last place you want to look for guidance. i am sure every older person of every generation felt the same way you do. one thing though as a young person i look at the adults - 30 and up and i see no good examples or leaders, most i see are the men trying to get with girls my age and trying to be young and the women of that same group angry and trying to get with young guys. its sad for us (my age) because we don't seem to have that adult leadership we so sorely need and it seems the adults are so competitive with each other so far as houses, cars, jobs etc...its a one upmanship society. but then again the whole world seems to be stuck in a me-first, get whatever i can get mindset. i guess it comes down to as disappointed as you are in us we are in you....so what can we do to make it better for us all?

hopefully they will get right. we have are educated youth that will take control. this is why i don't let my girls run the streets, and demand they do good in school and bring good grades in. so far it is working, all 3 of my girls are straight A students and they are 7, 10 and 13 years old. we as parents have to watch are kids and let them think we are not watching to much, keep track of where they are at all times. we will raise good productive smart kids. my 22 year old told me i was her hero, yes i felt good when she said that. she said, i know you thought i was not listening, but i was mom. you just got on my nerves because you repeated your self. she to was a straight A student, and helps manage a small company now. never had trouble with drugs or drinking from her. we have to keep on them. no matter how ill they get with us. they are our future.

You DO realize that the same cmplaints have been made about the youth of the day since at least 330BC? (That is the first written proof I've seen of this complaint) And the EXACT same things were said that you said?
And that it has been complained about every generation since?
Has the world ended yet because of it?
Merely a matter of perspective. Someone once looked at you - at all of us - and said the exact same things.

man, no morals, abuse drugs and alcohol. sounds just like our parents generation that grew up in the 60's-70's. what would the world be like if they ran it, we'd have a shrinking middle class. an increase in hate crimes and terrorisim. we'd be stuck in a war with no way out....

Oh I don't know. I don't believe the kids are any worse than the older generation was. Maybe more open. If you will notice the ones that are arrested for drugs are usually older.
Now they can't spell worth a crap..I have noticed that!

nicely, i think of video clips and televison sell those issues better than music. what share all people is followers of the action picture "Scarface" whilst in comparison with people who're followers of Jay-Z, Raekwon, infamous B.I.G., or the different rapper who raps approximately drug dealing or living a mafioso life form.

It would be very dreadful, yet I am a youth and I do do not participate in any of that crap. I think that your stereotype is way to generalized, though it is partially true.
