My mother says she was told not to eat pineapples when she was pregnant. She also said that pineapples can make your period come sooner. I never believed her, but is there really any truth to this?

I had a Grandmother once tell me new mothers should not eat watermelon. I felt bad for laughing. Pineapples if I remember correctly are on the natural list for inducing but you would have to eat a lot and be ready to give birth anyways (most natural ways don't work unless your body & baby are ready).
My advice would be to not go overboard on the canned with heavy syrup. Stick with the fresh ones.
Never heard anything about periods and pineapples. Funny the myths that go around.

I have never heard of that.
You need to keep strawberries down and peanuts down when pregnant. You can pass the allergy to your baby.

I am not sure about pineapples but they are pretty strong.

My just be an old wives tale.

I had to listen to SO much crap like this when I was pregnant. Just listen to your instincts, really. You can have whatever you want as long as it's in moderation. Shellfish or whatever: FINE. Blue cheese: FINE. That's outdated information, no one gets sick from blue cheese anymore. Just do what you feel is right and yeah eat that pineapple, baby.
