it depends on the reason for the criticism. If the criticism is constructive I will take it into consideration and try to do what I can to change. If it was meant to make me feel bad so that the other person can feel better about their own insecurities then I usually say something to offend them.

Dear Dolop; Let's go to the basics. First, learn to accept yourself without judgment. You are truly the most wonderful person you know, the best friend you have, and the smartest, brightest and most fantastic ever. That's you. Don't forget it. So, if someone else criticizes you, it tells you something about them. You already know about you...you're great. But they obviously don't see or appreciate your greatness. So, do you want to spend any energy on a person so narrow-minded and blind as that? Of course not. And if anybody else believes their stupid criticism, you don't want to waste energy on that person either. Be your own person. You know you're great. If they don't...forget them. Remember, you're great, they're not.

It depends on how they do it. Is it positive criticism? I take it gladly - I can always improve myself! If they're doing it to be mean, I ignore it.
