When we both worked full time jobs my husband always helped. Once we decided I could stay home the housework became "my job". Not a bad trade off for not having to daily grind.

I don't think men are "wired" to do housework. Housework is not just cleaning it involves floral arrangemeants, placement of soft furnishings, attention to the little things etc. Most men just don't have the "eye" to see an out of place cushion or vase. Let men do what they do best. hunt ,saw, fix ,weld , nail etc. Men are ment to be outside building, wearing nail bags, not inside fluffing cushions wearing a "pinny".

My husband does. And the laundry. And the cooking. We have been married 18 months and in that time I have had 6 surgeries. It is a good thing he can take care of the kids and house since there has been a significant amount of time that I couldn't do it.

My husband works and helps with the house cleaning. He will do it without being asked to. He'll see something that needs to be done and will go do it. Sometimes there are special jobs around the house other than normal cleaning and those I ask him to do. We both help do it.W e also have older children who have their chores around the house. We all have a "team" mentality.
