I was in the laundry room and I heard a dripping. It sounds like it's coming from the wall behind the washing machine. I am a first time home owner. I am not very familiar with what to do, or who to contact in order to get this fixed. Anybody have any ideas? Please help. Thanks in advance.

We had this same problem. It ended up being just a loose hose. Make sure all of your washers are good (they get brittle over time) and the connections are tight.

first shut off the taps to the washer tight, see if you still hear the sound. if so, be prepared to do some major work or paying for a plumber.

if the sound stops, when you cut off the taps to the washer, replace the hoses, or if new, the rubber-washers where they meet the taps and the machine. by the way, you should shut them off whenever not using the washer. the pressure in the lines can bust them when you are out, and you have a flood. there are techniques to fix this, but are too involved to go into here.
