Yes, they will be down for a little while, because of the huge chunk taken out of them!! But Australia has the hugest amount of talent at their disposal, hopefully they use it!!!

This is my team for 2011 world cup!!

Jaques
Hussey
Clarke
Cosgrove (come on Cossie!! Get that weight down!!)
Macdonald (talented all rounder)
Watson
Ronchi (WA keeper)
Cullen
Lee
Johnson
Clark.

Australia will be fine, and will not face a repeat of the mid-80's, which many people predict. That was made worse as not only did the 3 greats retire, but a Souht African rebel tour took away the talent that was next in line.

There is also a much better structure in place now with the Centre of Excellence to develop cricketers.

And the replacement of Gilchrist is one that I think will be quite easy, as Brad Haddin is an exceptional keeper to have as a backup, and has proven with NSW that he will also have the leadership qualities to help fill Gilly's void.

Having said that - there will only ever be one like GIlly, and it will be a sad, sad day when he gives it away.

While Australian Team's strength will be weakened with the retirement of Justion Langer, Shane Warne and Mc Grath, they will still remain a force to reckon with as they have enough bench strength. However, when Ponting, Hyden and Gilchrist retire, they will not able to hold on to present position.

I think in ODI it makes no difference. But as far as test cricket is concerned they are bound to face difficult times as it is not easy to replace the pair which has over 1200 test wickets. But loss of Langer is not a big deal.

I wouldn't worry too much. If Australia A was included on the ICC ranking tables for both Test and ODI I think Australia would be number 1, and Australia A would still be about third or fourth on the list. We have some very talented youngsters waiting, nay, gagging for their chance to prove themselves.

This is my team for 2008:
1.Jacques (NSW) FC
2.Paine (TAS)
3.Ponting (TAS)*
4.Hussey (WA)
5.Clarke (NSW)
6.Watson (QLD)
7.Haddin (NSW)+
8.McNamara (NSW)
9.Lee (NSW)
10.Johnson (QLD)
11.Clark (NSW)

12.Tait(SA)
