Bless your heart!!! I would look into a job with a bank, teller work. The pay is not too too bad and the experience and the potential to move up VERY high... I have been a bank manager for 22 years and hire many young adults like yourself. Wells Fargo also is on the TOP of the EFI list for companies working in the relations of GLTB. You will do fine and be out on your own in no time, give it a try! Good luck and keep your smile, I'll bet it is cute.... Let me know if you need help with contacts, I know a few...

Well, you need training, unless a career in fast food below the assistant-assistant manager level for the rest of your life is what you want. The Job Corps idea is excellent, you have room, board, and a chance to work as well as learn. Then there are trade schools or "career centers" as many are called today who also accept non- h.s. graduates toward certificate programs such as nursing assistants, janitorial, office assisting and business management, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and other hands-on trades. Then there is the obvious, get your GED either full or partime or simply return and finish high school (if possible, some states allow as long as you are under 21).

Buy and study the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People", and "How to Stop Worrying and Get on Living" each by Dale Carnegie.
Then, obtain and study audio tapes and books about selling and salesmanship. Nightingdale Conant is an excellent source of these. I especially recommend Brian Tracy's "The Psychology of Selling" and other works by Brian Tracy.
Become a good salesman. Salesmen perform a valuable service, and are well paid. No diplomas are required for many sales positions. There are always jobs available for salesmen.
To find your first job, check the help wanted ads in the newspaper, and Craig's List on line. If possible, try to sell something you like. In any event, learn about whatever you do sell.
Since you are living with your parents now, you may be able to start with a job that pays commissions only -- you do not have to get a commission only job, but if your expenses are covered for now, you could take one. They are usually easier to get, since not everyone is able to take them, and "commissions only" jobs often pay very well.
Continue to study and improve yourself. Read books. Read something by Jim Rohn for a good philosophy. Read books by Zig Zigler about attitude.
You can do it. Just start with one step. Good fortune to you.

You are still young. Get a job that doesn't require a diploma (restaurant, cleaning), then enroll in a GED program. You might even want to consider Job Corps--they will teach you a trade, give you a place to stay, and assistance finding a job later.
After you get your GED, I suggest you start taking classes at your local community college. Pick something you LOVE, and the money will follow.
Best of luck to ya!!
