When I cried as a child because I had been faced with unfairness my mother said, "Honey, whoever told you that life was fair lied to you."
I know that this is true, but I still believe that life SHOULD be fair and I do all I can to make it that way in my world.
This desire for fairness is tempered with an equal belief in acceptance of things as being the way they are supposed to be. A belief that "the plan" is perfect, even if I do not understand it. Some days the balance of the two is a bit difficult to maintain, but these two values seem to be the ones that I base everything else on.
I think this qualifies for an answer to your question. If I lost the spirit of the question, I apologize.

That there are some things beyond the capacity of the human mind and there is a fine line between eccentric and crazy, and sometimes that it is just better to exist and love the moment, than to bring destruction to your life by trying to find answers or reliving the past.

That I will always step forward and take a stand when necessary. I cannot NOT get involved when I see an injustice, big or small. I do not allow racist remarks to hang in the air. I will step right into the face of a bully. My brain and my wit are my main tools, and I use them fearlessly.

TRUTH is what I will never compromise. I once heard a courtroom case that when you left, you did not know who was telling the truth....imagine, if the Truth was vital in that courtroom, in that tiny part of the world, how much more vital is it in your life and in mine?
TRUTH by DEFINITION is EXCLUSIVE, there cannot be more that one way. So when it comes to things like religion for me, it is very possible that all of these worldviews are Wrong...it is not possible for all of them to be Right...So when Jesus said he was the Truth, the way and the light--thats an Exclusive claim....but He's not the only one who claimed exclusivity....Buddha claimed exclusivity, Hinduism claims exclusivity, Islam claims it.....
