Yes, of course. This country is a country that sells itself on fair play, democracy and inclusion. But in reality, it is not. The politicians say that this is the land of tolerance, but they divide and conquer at every whim to keep a job, fill an agenda and overflow their already full bank accounts.
The country has become one of knee-jerk conclusions/reactions without the debate. If one disagrees about something, they are tarred, feathered, disgraced and fired from their jobs. If something happens, laws are on the books within 24 hours after the event, just to satisfy a few for a short while.
The events of 9/11 unnerved the upper middle class and the
rich and all those in power that make the rules. They hadn't tasted pain, hurt and anguish before. They had insulated themselves by living in gated communities and schooling their kids in private schools to get away from the so-called Wille Hortons and others that they deemed unworthy unless they worked for them. The only time they were exposed to it was when they viewed it on the news and it was happening to someone else due to drugs and gun violence.
But 9/11 changed that. They finally felt it. They felt what Mrs. Diallo felt when her son was killed. They felt what Medgar Evers' family felt when he was killed. They felt what the King Family felt on April 4, 1968. They realized that they hadn't ran far enough to keep their stability from being broken. They saw that terrorism didn't discriminate and came in all forms. The size of their bank account, the shunning of those of different and the fancy lifestyle didn't make them immune.
Since then, they have been running on fear, absolute fear, mixed with greed, at its rawest form. The raw fear of those in power have displayed has cost lives (both abroad and here when you count the number of soldier related incidents when they return).
And the way politics are going now, Fear will run the country for a long time. It will take a strong-willed individual to finally stand up and say, "Whoa, let's stop and think about what we're doing. We need to discuss this."
Right now I don't see that individual, but I do see We, The People, standing up and exercising our vote stating, Enough!

As France went with the aid of those distinctive tiers interior the the process a decade many strikes could emerge and one such stream grew to become into the Communards. So finding at historic past you will discover how liberals have solid attachments with Jefferson's ideals. Without a doubt, if not the general morale here is shot. The USA used to be a country to be somewhat proud of, but the method that our government has chosen to handle world affairs is embarrassing. Meanwhile, the fire is only fueled and the countless billions spent on a useless war (that could have been better spent securing our borders and aiding people in need) will
go down as the greatest monetary waste in US history (not to mention all the blood spilled).

Yes i do our government has done a horrible job educating the public about the terrorists and a wonderful job of taking our liberties as a form of protection! That and political correctness has created a society where honest debate is stiffled and dissent looked down upon. That will only harm this country!!!

the only reason that the U.S. is becoming unstable is because of the congressmen who are undermining our mission and cause in iraq by dividing the people of the U.S. with lies and false intelligence. And dont you think it is weird that the media only shows the bad things that are happening in Iraq instead of any of the great things were doing in iraq. the media and congressmen( for example: John Kerry ) are dividing our country making us vulnerable to unstabilization. I have seen many good things we are doing in Iraq by my own searches. but the media is doing nothing but showing us the bad stuff, causeing division of the view of the iraq mission and the war on terror. the media is causeing our unstabilization.

David, I think there are forces at work here in the US that are causing this division over and above the normal political bickering crap we normally see. America is under attack but not from sources one would normally bother to consider. It's coming from outside as well as inside sources. Keep your eyes and ears open, events in the offing that may surprise many I bet.

yeh, it has turned out to be another nail in the coffin for the good feelings most americans have held for their country. now people are talking about immigrating elsewhere. some young professionals and older people who can afford to do so. the working masses, the wage slaves must take whatever they get and struggle to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. the good times are over. longer work hours, both parents working, kids out of control, cops must be vicious to keep the lid on. etc. etc. seems like a ticking time bomb to me.
