I've been typing for years and years. I'm an expert user of the Microsoft Office Suite. I consider myself to be a very fast typer probably around 60WPM. However a job I am applying for requires 80WPM. The highest I've been able to test at is around 70WPM and 80 seems nearly impossible! How can I type faster.

practice, practice, practice 16 hours a day 7 days a week... by the 10th week you'll be able to type 100 words per minute.

Try going to classes and practice a whole lot more. If've you've Hit 70... 80WPM should not be very hard for you! All the best!

But you must undergo a process,,, you need to place your finger to the proper keys,,, like for example,,,, the pointer finger from your left hand must strike the R, T, F, G, V, B, letters. The pointer finger from your right hand must strike Y, U, H, J, N, M letters.,,,,, Try to type those letters randomly,,,, until you get used to it....
Then,,,, proceed to the next level,,,, I mean the next two fingers,,,,

It can give you the step by step process...
With out noticing,,,,, your fingers were striking the keyboard so fast even with out staring from the copy that you were typing.... or not even a glance at your key board.... GOOD LUCK!!!!

keep practicing! the more you type on little sites like this esp. you become more used to the keyboard and your speed picks up over time. also, you can also use one of those old typing tutorials , sometimes when you start from scratch you start to remember all those old tricks that give you some extra speed. for example, i usually only use one shift button but you are actually supposed to use both depending upon what side of the keyboard the letter is you are capitalizing. good luck!

Get Mavis Beacon and practice practice practice that's how I went from about 45 wpm to 90.

I can type 120 WPM so 80 is definately impossible. Go to typing.com and practice as much as you can.

There are games that go to 120 wpm, if you can master that you've got it. Just do a search on typing proficiency games.
