Well according to my knowledge, ether a wood bat or a metal bat are the same. Just because I have 5 of each kind I recommend wood. I am 10. I think there are good bats at Big 5. Good luck.

Right now I purchased two Sam Bats which are pure Canadian Maple. Prior to this I used Louisville Slugger bats made from ash and they would always break at some point. I am so thrilled with my Sam Bats. I thought only MLB players would be able to use these and I was dead wrong. The way the ball explodes from your bat it's like thunder and I don't consider myself all that great a hitter. Now, Sam Bats are expensive but they last very long according to other people I have spoken with and I checked it out on their website. I am very happy so far in using Sam Bats. A recommendation for sure!

high school, you should get a metal bat. I hear from everyone I know that the "stealth" is the pretty good, but its probly pretty expensive. I have one of those yellow "laser" bats, and its fine too.
