yahoo.com has the best free historical information on stocks. you can also search the smartmoney.com site as they do monthly reviews of stocks in their magazine and often list the reviews on their web site

You're almost there !! Yahoo/finance has great info... just put a symbol in the box and hit GO ..a quote ( today's price) comes up but on the left are about ten other areas you can look into... it works for stocks, funds, ETF's.... and there's a symbol lookup if you only know the name of the company you're looking into.
MSN ( money or moneycentral) had a very nice page for funds....but I'm sorry, I forget how I used to get there.

The united States securities commission is the place every company that trades stock has to submit thier company reports. and unlike the reports that are given to shareholders in the annual summery - these have to include percieved risks, and other things that could make a company fail - its not the "sunshine and happiness" reports that many companies report to investors.
